Prepaid
Debit Cards
Demand for prepaid debit cards is surging. This product
line can help drive in-store traffic and sales as consumers
make initial purchases and later return to reload
funds onto their cards.
Prepaid debit cards offer money transaction solutions
to consumers in the United States that are unbanked.
When making a purchase, a prepaid debit card works
just like any other credit card, and the accepting
merchant doesn't know the difference. With this product,
anyone can securely carry money, purchase online,
pay for a hotel over the phone, and conduct countless
other transactions requiring a payment card.
Consumers become aware of the product by viewing
signage or a placard at your location. To create
the product, the clerk accesses the POS device
and selects an initial load value. Typically the
POS device will print a PIN with usage instructions
that direct the consumer to call an 800# to set
up their account. A personally embossed debit
card arrives at the consumer’s address typically
within 7 to 10 days. As the consumer makes purchases,
the value that they’ve loaded decrements
accordingly and when the balance on their card
approaches zero, they can reload funds on their
account by revisiting the retail location.
The AmigoMoney Debit Visa® card is the first card ever to offer a cross border remittance program. It also excepts the Matricula Consular as a form of identification. This program uses a VISA prepaid debit card.
